London to Brighton Bike Ride 2010

Team photograph

14 members of staff from MNPA dressed in a variety of colourful tutu’s made up the 27,000 people who took part in Europe’s largest cycle event on Sunday 20 June - the British Heart Foundation’s London to Brighton Bike Ride. The ride covers a 54 mile course leaving Clapham Common in London to Brighton seafront – this includes scaling Ditchling Beacon, the third-highest point on the South Downs.

Meeting at 5.15 in Leatherhead and despite a few initial hiccups, (the minibus didn’t turn up!)  the team eventually made it to Clapham Common for the 7.30am start, Nigel Parker was the first to reach the finish line at the Brighton Marina just after mid-day. By 4.30 pm everyone else had made it across the line with only 1 reported puncture amongst the whole team. Everyone was in great spirits and they all managed to turn up to work on Monday morning, even if a little saddle sore.

A tremendous amount of over £750 was raised for the British Heart Foundation.
