Movember 2009

Members of staff who took part in Movember

Movember is an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, highlighting men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer.

Mo Bros, supported by their Mo Sistas, started Movember (November 1st) clean shaven and then had the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustache.

Movember has continued to grow each year, both in terms of people participating but most significantly the amount of money raised. While Movember is relatively new in the UK, it started in Melbourne, Australia in 2003 as a challenge to bring back the moustache. In its first year, 30 Mo Bros took part in Movember and by last year, across the globe more than 173,000 Mo Bro & Sistas got on board, raising more than £14 million across the Movember’s men’s health partners globally. This year saw MNPA’s Mo Bros joining the cause and with a fantastic effort raised a staggering £1400. Not to be outdone, the Mo Sistas help raise £130 raised by the Tash Cake sale at the MNPA Christmas Fair on Friday 27 November.
